Responsibilities of a human resources generalist may include: recruiting, screening applicants, interviewing and placing employees within the organization. They may also take care of employee relations, training, workers compensation, benefits, career development, and payroll. These types of HR employees usually work full or part time for one company and are paid a salary or by the hour.

Other types of remote human resources jobs that are in demand are that of a specialized recruiter.  Recruiters typically focus only on finding quality employees for contract or permanent job assignments with their client companies.  They usually work with several different employers. Recruiters will work hand in hand with their client companies to help them fill open jobs. Recruiters are heavily involved with sales. It is essentially a recruiter’s job to seek out qualified job seekers to fill their client’s job needs. They sell that particular job and it’s perks to the job seeker and then sell the job seeker’s qualifications to their client. Many recruiters are paid a commission based on the salary of the employees they place.   Some common job titles for a recruiter are: staffing consultant, talent scout,  and head hunter.
